Ferlin Husky AKA Simon Crum imitates Country singers (Kitty Wells and others)
Переглядів 246 тис.13 років тому
On Country Style USA , Ferlin as Simon Crum parodies Sixteen Tons by Tennessee Ernie, More And More by Webb Pierce, You And Me by Kitty Wells and Red Foley. In 1955, Husky had a solo hit with "I Feel Better All Over (More Than Anywheres Else)"/"Little Tom", and developed "Simon Crum" as a comic alter ego. As Crum, Husky signed a separate contract with Capitol Records and began releasing records...

The Cyrkle's B sides and album cuts are great. The Minx soundtrack album is actually great, too (not so much the movie). Murray the K, the famous NY DJ of the 60's and 70's had to be the inspiration for this song about Murray the Why! It's so sad that Brian Epstein died when he did, and that rock n' roll went metal and away from these great harmonies. Cyrkle was actually quite early in the psychedelic music movement, too. Great musicians and songwriters. They really deserve to not be forgotten.

Never understood what happened to Joan O'Brien. She was very pretty, a good singer and a passable actress who co starred with Presley, Grant, and Wayne. In fact, she was in the first Columbo with Bert Freed as Columbo. She ended up being a hotel executive. She must not have liked show biz.

When I was a teenager in the 90s, I wasn't quite like the other teens...I had a crush on Donald O'Conner! 😅 Thanks to my aunt and family who introduced me to musicals, Singing in the Rain was my favorite movie, and his charm (and gorgeous blue eyes) won me over. This is so sweet and fun to see, thank you!

Guy's brothers were the sax section. They even breathed together, playing with one sound ! Louis Armstong took his band one night to hear Guy's group in NY. He said "That's how smooth I want you to sound" !
